AEA Purchasing facilitates a voluntary purchasing program to help Iowa schools and other eligible entities save time and money. Our goal is to combine the purchasing power of Iowa schools to offer aggressive pricing on materials, goods, and services through a competitive bid process.

IAAEA Food Program Consultant

The Iowa Association of Area Education Agencies (IAAEA)  seeks a qualified Registered, Licensed Dietitian or individual with successful experience in institutional food service management (emphasis on procurement and IT) to support child nutrition programs in Iowa schools. This 260-day position involves collaborating with school nutrition program operators to develop and sustain effective food programs. Responsibilities include procurement support, establishing best practices, consulting with the Iowa Department of Education, providing training, promoting the AEA Purchasing program, and maintaining accurate records. The position is based in an AEA facility (near the employee’s residence) and requires periodic travel (including overnights) and occasional out-of-state travel. The position reports to the IAAEA Executive Director or Chief Administrator liaison.
