Early ACCESS

Early ACCESS is Iowa’s early intervention system (IDEA Part C) for infants and toddlers under three years old not developing as expected or who have a medical condition that can delay typical development. Early intervention focuses on helping parents and other caregivers so that they can support their child’s growth and development. Anyone can refer children under the age of three to Early ACCESS, including parents, family members, medical providers, and childcare providers.

Iowa’s AEAs serve students from birth to the age of 21. The eligibility requirements for children to receive services differ depending on the age of the child. In all cases, however, services are free and are based on eligibility and need. If you believe that a child or student may be in need of AEA services, we are here to assist you!

Children Birth-3 years old

Early ACCESS is a partnership between families with young children, birth through age two. If you think your child may need assistance, you can make a referral.

Please reach out to your local AEA if you need further assistance.
